The 5 Things You Need to Build Your Online Business
When you start an online business the to-do list of things you need to do can be a mile long. You may be thinking, well I need to set up an LLC, get business cards, have a website, hire an SEO or social-media expert. Yes, those things are important but it’s they’re certainly not what you need to get your business off the ground so that you can start making money.
Here are the 5 things you do need to build your business (listed in priority order!).
I’m going to start with an overview here but this stuff is so important I decided to do a series over the next 5 weeks where I go into more detail of what you need to do. This is my idea of fun, I sure hope you feel the same way!
#1. Create Your Customer Profile or Avatar
You need to know who your ideal client is, what makes them tick and most importantly what problem they have so that you can solve it.
#2. Summary aka Elevator Pitch
You need to be able to clearly tell people what you do and who you do it for. It’s easy to get tongue-tied but I’ve got you totally covered here. Stay tuned.
You need to have something to sell! Oh, we’re going to go deep here and talk about how we can create an offer that gets your potential clients running for their wallets.
#4. Client-Getting Activities or Prospecting Plan
I’m not going to lie. This is a place where lots of people get stuck. It can feel hard, scary and dare I say soul-sucking but it doesn’t have to. We’re going to talk about all the ways you can find your clients.
